Contemporary artists Reko Rennie, Alex Seton and Del Kathryn Barton were the spices in the recipe at Menzies’ Important Australian and International Art auction in Melbourne last week.

While blue-ribbon artists such as Jeffrey Smart, Fred Williams and William Robinson predictably netted the top prices in the March 29 sale, younger provocateurs provided some of the most exciting moments.
