Melbourne turns to art giant Picasso to save city
Visitors to Melbourne will have the chance to view more than 70 works by Pablo Picasso in a new blockbuster exhibition that the Victorian government hopes will bring tourists back to the city and help reclaim the title of cultural capital of Australia.
The Picasso exhibition comes as Victoria Premier Daniel Andrews on Friday talked up the recovery of the state. He announced new offshore wind power targets and told the Committee for Economic Development of Australia that state governments were pulling the “levers that drive economies, build infrastructure, improve lives and create momentum” with “no national reform agenda coming out of the national government”.
