JBWere CEO Justin Greiner urges charities to merge for survival

The number of charities have doubled every two decades and are now setting up at a rate of close to 10 new charities every business day.

Charities will need to group together around common causes if they are to survive and prosper, according to JBWere chief executive Justin Greiner.

Mr Greiner, the private wealth executive and son of former NSW premier Nick Greiner, said charities need to operate "more effectively and with more purpose" as a report commissioned by JBWere found more charities were being established despite efficiency and volunteer numbers declining.
