Iconic Millennial comedy sketch is now a book
Always Room for Christmas Pud is something of a Millennial cultural touchstone in Australia. It’s a 2018 sketch by absurdist comics Aunty Donna, a group of bearded young men who starred in a 2020 Netflix series, Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun.
The setup, which calls to mind Monty Python’s gluttonous Mr Creosote being urged to enjoy a wafer thin mint after a gargantuan feast, is three men discussing how Christmas pud is too good to miss, no matter how much you’ve eaten.
