Sophie Galaise, the former Melbourne Symphony Orchestra chief executive who cancelled a concert by Jayson Gillham, settled with the pianist before his discrimination case against the MSO began on Monday.
The terms of the settlement are confidential. Gillham’s lawyer, Michael Bradley, said an agreement in principle to settle with Galaise was reached with her lawyers last week and a deed of settlement was being finalised.
An earlier version of this story stated that Symphony Services Australia, who contracted Jayson Gillham to his MSO performance, was still named in his suit. This is incorrect. Mr Gillham discontinued his claim against SSA on 16 October 2024.
