Call of the wild: The Great Animal Orchestra revives a lost world
The sounds of more than 15,000 animal species will be vividly recreated at the 23rd Bienniale of Sydney, challenging you to reimagine your future.
Thousands of years before luxury apartments and offices were built over it, Barangaroo, on the north-western edge of Sydney’s CBD, teemed with wildlife that the Gadigal people used to fish and hunt.
An audible reminder of this pre-history is set to take over Barangaroo’s Stargazer Lawn from next month, when The Great Animal Orchestra, a commission from the Paris-based Fondation Cartier, is installed there as part of the 23rd Biennale of Sydney.
