Thousands of years before luxury apartments and offices were built over it, Barangaroo, on the north-western edge of Sydney’s CBD, teemed with wildlife that the Gadigal people used to fish and hunt.

An audible reminder of this pre-history is set to take over Barangaroo’s Stargazer Lawn from next month, when The Great Animal Orchestra, a commission from the Paris-based Fondation Cartier, is installed there as part of the 23rd Biennale of Sydney.
