ACO Underground returns with rock, pop and shock at posh venue
The Australian Chamber Orchestra’s creative wild child will be let loose once more on June 4, this time at the band’s sleek new digs in Walsh Bay.
ACO Underground’s next gig is in a more salubrious venue than the sticky-carpet pubs and adult cinemas they’ve played in the past, but founder Satu Vänskä promises the musical adventure will be just as wild.
The principal violinist of the Australian Chamber Orchestra started ACO Underground 10 years ago as a “creative outlet” for the ensemble, blending amplification, contemporary material and guest rock musicians with the classics, and seeking new audiences away from concert halls.
