The Morrison government will not stand in the way of a foreign private equity white knight saving Virgin Australia, given the importance of maintaining two domestic airlines.
A senior government source told AFR Weekend Treasurer Josh Frydenberg would look favourably upon an application from a foreign private equity investor planning to make a bid for Virgin.
