Crew knew what was afoot on Qatar strip search flight, court told

Qatar Airways pilots and hostesses allegedly knew why a flight was called back to the gates at Doha Airport before all women on board were ordered off the plane and subjected to invasive and degrading strip searches.

Dr Christopher Ward, SC, who is representing five Australian women who are suing Qatar Airways, the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority and airport operations company MATAR over the searches, said the captain of the plane made an announcement about a mechanical problem to hold at the gate.
