Queensland brothers join private equity bid for campervan group THL

Luke and Karl Trouchet, brothers from the Queensland family that founded the Apollo campervan business in the 1980s, are backing a $471 million private-equity bid for struggling operator Tourism Holdings Limited.

THL, which is dual-listed on the New Zealand and Australian stock exchanges, has a fleet of 7800 rental campervans under brands including Britz, Maui and Apollo, which it acquired following a merger in 2022. THL also has a substantial business selling the vehicles.
