A polling booth across the road from Suncorp Stadium may be the busiest in the country on election day, which falls in the middle of the NRL’s Magic Round in Brisbane.
Tourism chiefs said they were not worried Queenslanders would be too distracted to vote – or annoyed their sports fan-dom was being interrupted by the legal requirement to do so – on May 3, which is also a long weekend in the sunshine state.
