Telstra has appointed Michael Ackland, its head of consumer and small business, as chief financial officer from September when Vicki Brady will succeed chief executive Andy Penn.

Ms Brady said she was “thrilled” to appoint an internal candidate, adding that Mr Ackland’s “strong telecommunications experience” would stand him well.
