AI chatbots are being used by telco firm TPG to scam the scammers, engaging them in fake conversations to reveal their schemes and the types of organisations they are impersonating.
Tens of thousands of good-guy bots with different personalities and accents, including an Aussie who says “mate”, have been created by Apate.ai, a Macquarie University start-up that has commercialised its technology.
