New Optus chief executive Stephen Rue says the company is considering bundling mobile phone plans with subscriptions to sports matches as he tries to win back disenchanted customers following the telecoms group’s massive data breach and countrywide network outage.

As previously reported by The Australian Financial Review, Optus has been considering selling its Optus Sport streaming business to raise cash following hefty writedowns on its enterprise business and costs associated with a day-long phone and internet outage in late 2023.
