Can we trust the spies on China's Huawei?

Just a month after the Abbott government came to power in September 2013, trade minister Andrew Robb was in Shanghai praising the successes and technology of Chinese phone company Huawei.
Robb was part of a small group within the Coalition, led by then communications minister Malcolm Turnbull, who favoured reviewing a ban on Huawei bidding for contracts with the National Broadband Network.
