Why elite tennis could finally be at a tipping point

The potential for Saudi money to disrupt the game, the same way as golf was upended in 2022, is putting the sport on notice. Many think change is overdue.

Beyond a mutual love of tennis, Serbian champion Novak Djokovic and rising American star Coco Gauff couldn’t be more different.

For starters Gauff is 19 and Djokovic is 36 – in 2003, when Djokovic made his professional debut, Gauff wasn’t even born. Gauff has won just one grand slam, Djokovic has won 24. They’re also from opposite sides of the world.
