Rowing Australia chief executive Sarah Cook was in the stands of Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium in Paris and could feel her legs moving in time with the athletes.

It was a visceral reaction for Cook as she watched her first Olympic Games since competing in London more than a decade ago. Cook hoped for the best in Paris but knew it would be an uphill battle.
