Up to 40 jobs axed at cash-strapped A-Leagues
Australian Professional Leagues, the governing body behind national football tournament the A-Leagues, has axed up to 40 positions at its head office as part of a strategic review at the cash-strapped organisation.
The A-Leagues have experienced significant attendance and membership growth since the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023, but not enough to overcome financial problems, and are trying to secure more funding from the government to ensure its long-term viability.
