The longest-serving Matilda, Lydia Williams, says skipper Sam Kerr has the support of the Australian women’s team after she allegedly called a British police officer “a stupid white bastard”.

Chelsea club manager Emma Hayes also declared her support for Kerr, who pleaded not guilty to a charge of racially aggravated harassment earlier this week. The Sun newspaper in Britain reported Kerr allegedly called a police officer “a stupid white bastard”.
