Australia’s Olympic team will march into a recycled Bird’s Nest stadium in Friday’s opening ceremony to a Beijing Winter Games that China says it is producing on a modest budget.

At the head of the team will be flag-bearers skier Laura Peel and figure skater Brendan Kerry, the Australian Olympic Committee said late on Thursday.
