Queensland’s ‘game-changing’ facility gives Jakara Anthony moguls gold
Australia’s winter sports competitiveness has been boosted by a “game-changing” training centre in Brisbane that allows mogul and aerial skiers such as Jakara Anthony to practise year-round, the country’s newest Olympic gold medallist said on Monday.
The $6.5 million Geoff Henke Olympic Winter Training Centre, completed in late 2020, allows freestyle skiers to practise aerial manoeuvres by reaching speeds of up to 70 kilometres an hour, shooting down synthetic ramps of differing lengths and landing in a pool.
