John Aloisi’s soccer team plays on despite ATO audit

Australia’s highest-ranked professional soccer club, Western United, says its participation in the elite A-League competition won’t be affected by the Australian Tax Office’s attempt to wind-up its parent companies.

The ATO was revealed on Friday to be the applicant seeking to wind up two companies linked to the club, including the entity that holds the A-League licence and employs the professional footballers: WMG Football Club Limited.
