Brisbane's AFL grand final a reward for keeping the season alive
The AFL has made a strategic play into rugby league heartland with its decision to award this year's grand final to the Gabba in Brisbane, unveiling a night time final to excite fans and sponsors.
While Queensland has been rewarded for saving the AFL season after the coronavirus second wave shut down Victoria, AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan has also made no secret they are continuing to expand the game into the north.
