Australia to foot bill if virus hits Brisbane Games

Taxpayers could face a massive damages bill and indemnify the International Olympic Committee if government pandemic lockdowns force the Brisbane 2032 Games to be cancelled.
The Brisbane host city principles contract released by the IOC bears similar characteristics to the Tokyo contract that left Japan with little option but to run the 2020 Games despite heavy local opposition.
