Better than expected results on the field are helping to improve the financial situation off it, claim AFL club GWS Giants.

The club's chief executive Dave Matthews said the Giants are on track to meet its budget expectations, meaning the AFL would be unlikely to have to tip in additional funds in 2015 a year after being forced to provide an extra $3.25 million to fledgling club.
