A-League heavyweight Paul Lederer has poured cold water on Cristiano Ronaldo’s suggestion that he was approached to play in Australia, saying the Portuguese star could demand far more than any local club could afford.
Ronaldo, 37, insisted he had multiple offers including from clubs in Australia, the United States, and Europe, following his messy exit from Manchester United, but he had given his word to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr and wanted a “new challenge”.
