Betty’s Burgers to open first drive-through in Sydney

Would you pay more than $23 for a cheeseburger combo at a drive-through? Retail Zoo, the private equity-owned group behind Boost Juice and Betty’s Burgers, is betting plenty of Australians will as it throws its weight behind a drive-through push for both brands.

The private equity-owned group, backed by Adamantem Capital, is hoping a faster format will help it muscle into territory long ruled by McDonald’s and Guzman y Gomez. It’s part of a broader strategy being driven by chief executive Chris Garlick, installed seven months ago by Adamantem to capture market share in Australia’s increasingly crowded quick-service restaurant sector.
