Woolworths leaves door open to further price rises
Brad Banducci, the boss of supermarket giant Woolworths, has left the door open to further price increases as some of its largest suppliers are poised to request price bumps for a second time in coming months as they battle rising input costs.
About 40 per cent of Woolworths’ Australian supermarket suppliers have asked for an increase to prices. That represents 50 per cent of its sales, which jumped 5.4 per cent to $11.43 billion in the third quarter.
