The cost-of-living crisis is real – so is supermarket competition
The Emerson review must not make findings for the political sake of having been seen to have done something.
Jeff KennettCommentatorEconomist and former minister Craig Emerson has been appointed by the federal government to review the Food and Grocery Code of Conduct.
The justification for the review was a call by the National Party’s leader, David Littleproud, and some farmers who question why the farm gate price paid for their products was, in many cases, substantially less than the price charged by supermarkets to their customers.
