Super Retail Group founder Reg Rowe is retiring from the company behind Rebel Sport and Supercheap Auto, but says he will remain a key shareholder and called his 50 years in retail “an amazing ride”.

Mr Rowe, who holds nearly 30 per cent of the company, will be replaced by non-executive director Mark O’Hare, effective from Tuesday. Mr O’Hare is Mr Rowe’s long-time business adviser and is the chairman of the advisory group of Mr Rowe’s private investment group, Re-Grow Capital Group.
