Not long after the coronavirus pandemic seized up the economy, Woolworths began delivering pre-packaged bags of food and other essential items for $80.

Sold at cost and designed for the elderly and other vulnerable citizens, the "basic boxes" are an example of how Woolworths, led by chairman Gordon Cairns, is putting aside profits for people.
