Weak retail sales, plummeting foot traffic and rising CPI-linked rents haven’t dented retailers’ appetite for new stores.

Listed retailers are on track to open more than 360 new stores this financial year, exceeding the 332 stores opened in 2023, to reach new customers in Australia and overseas, take a bigger share of their respective markets and gain scale.
