What pandemic? JB Hi-Fi set to post biggest profit growth in years

JB Hi-Fi chief executive Richard Murray believes elevated demand for consumer technology, which emerged during the pandemic and fuelled the retailer's strongest organic sales and profit growth in 10 years, will continue to Christmas.

However, Mr Murray says the outlook for the rest of the economy is uncertain and believes governments need to target further stimulus at sectors such as tourism and hospitality rather than extend JobKeeper subsidies, which are due to unwind in September.
