David Jones owner: We won’t pull plug on Australia

Woolworths Holdings of South Africa – the owner of department store David Jones and the Country Road Group – has dismissed speculation it is planning to exit its Australian operations.
A spokeswoman from the listed retail group in South Africa told The Australian Financial Review it is not mulling a sale of David Jones, which was purchased in 2014 for $2.1 billion and has underperformed ever since.
