Beer no longer recession-proof, says Coopers Brewery boss

Coopers Brewery managing director Dr Tim Cooper says beer is losing its ability to withstand tough economic times because of heavier than usual government excise increases and sharp rises in inflation in raw materials such as aluminium and barley.
“I think people do get more spooked by the economic conditions,” he said on Monday.
