100-year-old Godfreys owner John Johnston dies

John Johnston, the 100-year-old who bought back the struggling vacuum retail chain Godfreys in June in a takeover, died on Thursday.
Mr Johnston turned 100 in July just weeks after completing the buyout of the stricken firm after a volatile four years on the ASX. On October 23 he cut the ribbon to open a new Godfreys store, declaring that robotic vacuum cleaners were the future of the industry.
