100-year-old Godfreys owner says robotic cleaners are the future
The 100-year-old owner of retailer Godfreys says robotic vacuum cleaners are the future of the industry, and will overtake the wildly popular stick vacuum favoured by apartment dwellers and busy households.
John Johnston, who bought out Godfreys in a takeover sealed in July after the business hit the skids and plunged into losses, said on Tuesday he was buoyed by a return to profitability for the chain, which operates 218 stores.
