Judge sprays ‘flimsy’ Porter case on costs

Christian Porter is still eating into the trust fund set up to pay his legal bills in last year’s defamation stoush with the ABC, with his latest court foray involving evidence a judge called “flimsy” and arguments that were “at best unpersuasive”.

The former attorney-general wanted to delay paying Jo Dyer – who successfully blocked Sue Chrysanthou, SC, from acting for Porter due to a conflict of interest – costs of $430,200 from the case until an appeal in April.
