Top-tier law firms Ashurst, Allens and Herbert Smith Freehills have doubled down on the energy transition as the next big driver of billings in their latest partner promotions.

Ashurst appointed a record 17 local partners in its latest round of promotions, timed to coincide with the beginning of the UK fiscal year, while HSF promoted nine lawyers to the partnership. Allens tapped five to join its partnership at the beginning of July.
