Companies are increasingly building up internal teams of consultants and technology experts as organisational change becomes “business as usual”, fuelling the rise of consulting marketplaces like Expert360 and cutting demand for major advisory firms.

The shift – accelerated by a digitation push during the COVID-19 pandemic – means companies are more willing to hire freelance experts than teams via consulting firms Deloitte, EY and KPMG.
