Consultancies join forces to tap into casino riches

National consultancy Grant Thornton has acquired boutique anti-money laundering specialist firm Initialism as it seeks to cash in on the financial crime and governance scandals plaguing Australia’s biggest casinos and banks.

The two firms had already worked together to provide financial crimes advice for five years, but Initialism leader Neil Jeans said, “the time was right” to formalise that arrangement as regulators and businesses alike ramp up their anti-money laundering efforts.
