Global law firm Ashurst will use a strong financial performance to assess its US strategy and push back against competition from chequebook-wielding American firms, which are looming large over established UK players.

Ashurst – which, as a British-registered firm, is required to publish annual financial results – grew its global revenue by 9 per cent to £961 million ($1.85 billion) in the year to April 30.
