Winds of gloom can’t extinguish Diggers and Dealers spirits

Diggers and Dealers, Australia’s annual mining Kalgoorlie gabfest that traditionally draws more than 2000 executives and bankers from across the country, was set to end on Wednesday with a lavish awards dinner to celebrate a return to normal after two COVID-19-affected years.
Instead, wild weather led to the evacuation of the huge marquee, briefly stranding the catering staff.
