The billionaire, the mine, the minority stake and her lover
It’s 14 years since Gina Rinehart transferred ownership of a company to her late lover. The company controls a stake in her next big mine, but who controls it?
Around the time Gina Rinehart’s lover Robert Sparke died on January 10, 2013, one piece of his personal estate passed to an accountant named Shoou-Jong Jabez Huang, rather than Mr Sparke’s children or grandchildren.
Mr Huang was a little-known finance executive within Mrs Rinehart’s private empire in 2012, when according to official records, he took full ownership of Mr Sparke’s company Outback WA Pty Ltd.
