Gina Rinehart lived up to her outsider status when accepting The Australian Financial Review’s Business Person of the Year award before a blue-chip corporate audience in Sydney on Thursday night.

Her 10-minute speech at our inaugural Business Person of the Year dinner doubled as a political manifesto, taking aim at the media and attacking onerous government intervention that even “Blind Freddie” could see was crimping business investment.
