Queensland mine blast hits Anglo's track record

Resource giant Anglo American's safety record is under the spotlight after an underground gas explosion severely burned five miners at one of its central Queensland coal mines.

The blast, which left four men in a critical condition and one seriously injured, marks more regulatory scrutiny after a series of accidents at Anglo sites and has rocked the state’s resources industry after eight deaths in an 18-month period.
