This Perth entrepreneur is surfing the Trump wave

Barely two years ago Tony Sage hit a low, losing control of Perth Glory soccer club. Now, thanks to Trump, he’s facing an open goal in Greenland and Ukraine.

Not even two years ago, Perth entrepreneur Tony Sage hit what was surely the low point of his 40-year professional career: he had to relinquish the ownership of A-League soccer team Perth Glory, after the club’s finances hit the skids.

Yet wind the clock forward, and somehow Sage – one of those WA business types to whom the epithet “colourful” is habitually attached – today seems to be facing an open goal, with the ball at his feet.
