The days of making anonymous comments online without legal consequence may be over after a court ordered Telstra to hand over documents to a Gold Coast doctor to help him identify an an allegedly defamatory reviewer.

The Federal Court case centred on a comment made by an anonymous user of ratemds.com – a website that allows people to post ratings and reviews of doctors.
