Tax rebates for journalism could unlock $700m in benefits

Tax rebates for investment in public interest journalism could reap more than $700 million in benefits, according to new research and economic modelling.

The Public Interest Journalism Initiative (PIJI), chaired by former competition watchdog head Allan Fels, modeled rebates of between 25 and 50 per cent for investing in public interest journalism.
