Journalist Nick McKenzie says he used fair, responsible and honest means to obtain material for his investigation into Ben Roberts-Smith as the disgraced soldier attempts to reopen the appeal of his defamation action over a secret recording.
McKenzie took the stand on Thursday in the Full Federal Court in Sydney to give evidence and face cross-examination, which will continue on Friday.
